RENTAL AGREEMENT
All persons who rent aircraft from Arrow Aviation, LLC, must fill out and sign a rental agreement form, and return it to the front desk for approval.  We provide the online version of the rental agreement for informational purposes only.  It may contain errors or omissions, or may be updated at any time and such updates or corrections may not immediately be reflected on this web site.

Below are some frequently asked questions regarding the contents of the agreement.  Information in this document may be inaccurate or outdated.

Required Documentation for Renting:

  • Arrow Aviation LLC Rental Agreement
  • Driver's License
  • Pilot Certificate (unless receiving pre-solo training)
  • Medical Certificate (unless receiving pre-solo training)
  • Logbook (unless receiving pre-solo training)
  • If training for a new certificate or rating, documentation that is acceptable to the Transportation Safety Administration.
  1. What are the operational restrictions imposed by the rental agreement?
    Our rental agreement is fairly standard in its restrictions.  Here is a list of some of the major points. 

    • Landings at non-FAA-approved airports, on runways shorter than 2,000 feet, on turf, sod, grass, or any runway in poor condition is prohibited.
    • Flight over water beyond power-off gliding distance is prohibited.
    • Student Pilots operating solo must have at least 4 miles visibility and 2,000 ft. ceiling to conduct pattern work, 5 miles visibility and 3,000 ft. ceiling for flights in the practice area, and 8 miles visibility and 5,000 ft. ceiling for cross-country flight.  We do not prohibit touch-and-gos on solo flights.
  2. What are the proficiency requirements?

    • Flight proficiency check required for each type of aircraft rented.
    • A proficiency check is required at least once a year, regardless of time flown.
    • Flight proficiency checks are additionally required if the customer has not flown an Arrow Aviation aircraft within 90 days of a scheduled flight.  
  3. What is the cancellation and "no show" policy?

    • Cancellations require 48 hours advance notice, except due to unforeseen weather or maintenance.
    • A customer is considered a "no show" if they do not arrive within 30 minutes of the scheduled flight.  The aircraft may be re-rented to another customer after the conditions of a "no show" have been met.
    • In the case of "no shows" and cancellations within 48 hours, the customer is responsible for 50% of the scheduled aircraft time and 100% of the scheduled instructor time.
    • When flight time with an instructor has been scheduled, the instructor makes the determination regarding all weather cancellations.  The "no show" policy applies when the instructor determines that flight is not cancelled and the student doesn't arrive within 30 minutes.
  4. What if I want to rent a plane for an extended period?

    • A charge of at least 50% of the scheduled time applies.  There may exist certain exceptional circumstances.
  5. What am I billed for and when?

    • Payment is due at the time of the service.  We accept cash, check and accepted major credit cards.
    • Aircraft charges are "wet," meaning that the price includes fuel, oil, and maintenance.
    • Aircraft charges are based on the Hobbs reading, and breaks down into tenths of an hour.  Billing is rounded to higher tenth.
    • In the case that the Hobbs meter is inoperative, 1.2 times the tachometer time is billed.
    • Flight and ground instruction at the posted rate is billed in addition to the aircraft charges.
    • Fuel purchases at destination airports will be credited to your account.
    • Incidental charges, such as landing fees, ramp fees, routine services obtained at another airport (e.g. preheating), are the responsibility of the customer.
  6.  What insurance does the flight school carry?

    • Arrow Aviation, LLC is insured for liability and hull damage.
    • A deductible of $1000 applies.
    • The customer may be held responsible for all liability and damage if the aircraft is operated in violation of the agreement.
    • NEW! Tailwheel renters must carry separate renter's insurance.
